After years of development and a massive Code Quest challenge, finally Blender 2.8 has been released in 2019. There is no doubt this is the most impress update with Blender to date. It’s packed with so many amazing new features including new interface, an overhaul of the layering system or so called Outliner, Grease Pencil, improved Cycles render and also an incredible super-fast render Eevee. A switch to a left mouse click instead of the right mouse click will lure newbies 3D artist jumping on-bard. A good move to make it easier to be more adaptable to learning Blender 2.8.

At Siggraph 2019 Autodesk announce a piloting trial of an Indie subscription for people starting out with Maya or 3DS Max. If you meet the criteria, instead of paying $2170 (AUD) you only will need to cash out $354.79 (AUD). At this stage, this price is at a trial. If it does become successful, Autodesk may expand the scheme to include other countries.
