Intro to Cycles rendering setup in Blender 2.8?

Blender 2.8 Rendering – Cycles Basic Setup

1. Select Context Render icon.

2. Select Cycles as your render engine and under Device select GPU if it is supported. In Blender 2.8 GPU rendering renders faster than CPU

3. Adjust render sample if required. Higher value results in better image quality.

4. Open the Performance tab followed by the Tiles tab.

5. Set the Tiles X and Y. Smaller tiles renders faster with CPU engine and larger tiles renders faster with GPU. These setting effects speed of rendering and does not effect the quality.

Intro to Eevee rendering setup in Blender 2.8?

Blender 2.8 Rendering – Eevee Basic Setup

1. Select Context Render icon.

2. Select Eevee as your render engine if it has not been selected.

3. Adjust render sample if required. Higher value results in better image quality.

4. Select the Context Output icon.

5. Adjust resolution in X and Y fields.

6. Press F12 to render single frame or go to Render > Render Image.

7. At the bottom left you can change the file format.

8. Set where you would like to save the image and assign a file name, then click Save as Image.

How to flip normals in Blender 2.8?

Blender 2.8 Modelling – Flip Normals

1. Select object and then go to the Viewport Overlay icon on the top right and click on the arrow dropdown.

2. Check Face Orientation on.

3. You will notice your selected object turns blue. Any faces that show red means the normals are reversed.(You can also check if the normals are reversed by checking on the display normals icon if you are in edit mode.)

4. Go to edit mode and press 3 to select the red polygon faces.

6. On the top menu select Mesh and then Normals followed by Flip. This will reverse the normals. Your mesh should now all be in blue.

How to backface select in Blender 2.8?

Blender 2.8 Modelling – X-Ray mode (backface culling)

1. Press Tab to get into edit mode.2. Switch on X-Ray mode by toggling the show X-Ray icon (the double square symbol) on the top right.

3. Now you can see the object faces, edges or vertices behind.

4. Drag and select the area. Notice the selection will also highlight the back faces, edges or faces.
