Blender Nvidia RTX OptiX support fix

How to get OptiX support working on Blender 2.8x / 2.9x?

If you have an Nvidia RTX card and your Blender preference under Cycles Render Devices under the OptiX tab greys out your GPU card, then the most likely cause of this is your GPU drivers. To resolve this download the latest Studio Drivers (SD) to get your OptiX working. Note it’s not the Game Ready Driver (GRD).

1. Go to Nvidia Driver download select the specification that matches your system and click on the search button.

Mesh projection onto surface using knife project

How to project faces onto another object surface in Blender 2.8?

Sometime it can be tricky to cut out surface conforming the another object or surface. Even though the boolean tool is a fantastic modifier, it doesn’t work all the time. This is when the Knife Project tool comes in handy.

Using a bezier curve to create a ribbon or tube

How to use a bezier curve to create a ribbon or tube in Blender 2.8?

1 Create a bezier curve Shift A and then select Curve > Bezier Curve from the menu.

2. Select the Path icon on the right panel and open the Geometry and Bevel dropdown.

3. Scale the Depth to create a tube thickness.

4. Select the end of the vertex and extrude the path by pressing E. (Go to the top or side view to keep the extrusion to conform to a single axis.)

5. In the Curve panel, adjust the Extrude field to scale the height of the mesh.
