Mesh projection onto surface using knife project

How to project faces onto another object surface in Blender 2.8?

Sometime it can be tricky to cut out surface conforming the another object or surface. Even though the boolean tool is a fantastic modifier, it doesn’t work all the time. This is when the Knife Project tool comes in handy.

1. Select the surface mesh you like to project by pressing Tab and 3 for face selection and select the faces. (Generally this is a flat face surface)

2. Exit the edit mode and CTRL select the second object you wish to have the shape projected onto.

3. Adjust the camera so the project is facing directly towards the camera or use the Preset Viewpoint if the [...]
