Create your own Anime character with VRoid Studio

Have you ever wanted to create your own Anime character? Well, today I have spotted an app that might spark your eyes to open even wider. VRoid Studio, created by Pixiv ピクシブ (A Japanese company built for the online artist community, it’s kind of like Deviant Art) is offering a free download app to the creative artist and anime fans. While at its beta stage, it still has amazing features without the complexity of learning a 3D package. The UI is simple to navigate through, majority of the menu is in English and if your not sure just guess. Currently there is a choice of 6 character templates (unfortunately at the moment they are all females) as a base for your avatar design. It comes fully textured with cool cloth and hair simulation. And amazingly from face to the to the foot it is fully rig so you can pose your anime character however you want. There is a selection of animated poses or paint your character and give her a unique identity.

VRoid Studio doesn’t stop there, for the advance creative artist you can even export your model as a VRM file and import it into your 3D software like Maya, Max or Blender. However from my testing the rig can not be export, which means you will have to re-rig the character in the package you use.
